Kettle soured hoppy pale ale, first imagined in 2015 as the house beer for our friends at The Archives bar in Burlington, VT. Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A. It quickly became a favorite, and features both fresh hops (citrusy) and aged hops (funky & floral). 5.2% abv. Athenaeum blends two brewing traditions into one wild ale. Lambics and other barrel aged sour ales use aged hops for their unique flavors and reduced bitterness. Modern IPAs use fresh hops for their fruitiness. Athenaeum combines these methods to emphasize our Brattleboro wild yeast character, shedding new light on our library of fruity and funky hops.
